Drapery Dilemma....

My son's room faces the East.  So every morning he wakes up literally at the crack of dawn.  My husband and I have had it with the 5:30 a.m. wake up calls (or yells depending on the little man's mood).  The problem is that my son has a huge bay window in his room and then a half-moon window above that.  So in order to completely be able to block out the light I'm going to have to buy very wide curtains as well as very tall! They're almost going to be floor to ceiling length because we have very high ceilings.

 I'm thinking this natural burlap panel from Ballard Designs is what I'm going to buy.  The reviews say that it blocks out light magnificently.

If you have these panels or a solution to this problem, please, please let me know what your thoughts are! 

I'm quite literally losing sleep over this.  

West Elm Wants....

I have a small bathroom that I painted a gorgeous, deep gold/yellow.  I found the perfect rug to match the room but, could not find a unique, yet attractive shower curtain to make the room pop.  In comes West Elm's shower curtain:

Unique, cute, totally perfect. 

In addition to the curtain I found Apothecary Jars 

 that would be perfect for storing my little girl's hair accessories. 

I also want these gorgeous Gold Porcelain Trays. 

 I think they might be a little large for the room, but a girl can dream can't she?!  

Now I just need to sit back and wait for a sale to happen.....

....or my budget to increase?!

I love this living room by Anne Hepfer.  I saw it and instantly fell head first over the pops of orange and red throughout the room.  I love the florals, solids, and patterns in this room.  See, this couch?

Vivid Images, Punches of Color, and Unique Art Pieces Equals

Designer Courtney Giles.  Atlanta Homes Magazine featured her town home in one of their issues and I loved the brightness in every room but, she also had colorful paintings and unique art pieces placed ingeniously throughout!  For example:

Round stones under a transparent coffee table.

The black walls and art detail on the valance add color, life, and fun to the room! Oh, and look, it's still bright!

The painting above the sofa is so vibrant.  My eyes were immediately drawn to it's magnificence.  The pops of orange, red, and yellow are perfect against the neutral couch and walls.

The dining room is so bright with all of that natural light.  The painting adds a little touch of color to the room, but I would have loved to see a little more color and texture.  This was the only room I was somewhat disappointed over, but it still looks great!
