West Elm Wants....

I have a small bathroom that I painted a gorgeous, deep gold/yellow.  I found the perfect rug to match the room but, could not find a unique, yet attractive shower curtain to make the room pop.  In comes West Elm's shower curtain:
Unique, cute, totally perfect.
In addition to the curtain I found Apothecary Jars
that would be perfect for storing my little girl's hair accessories.
I also want these gorgeous Gold Porcelain Trays.
I think they might be a little large for the room, but a girl can dream can't she?!
Now I just need to sit back and wait for a sale to happen.....
....or my budget to increase?!

My Finished Bathroom!

Finally, I was able to finish decorating the basement bathroom before the holidays hit.  This was the before:  I didn't even have cabinets or a counter yet, or paint for that matter!

I chose a camel/tan color for the bathroom.  I believe it's called buff or something like that.
 and the final.....

This picture's frame was a really dark brown.
I painted it off-white after lightly sanding it down.  After it was painted, I sanded it again to antique it a bit.
Here it is after again:

In the end, I was pretty pleased with the outcome.  We saved money by doing the tiling and painting ourselves.  We chose a ceramic tile with glass tiled accents.  This way we could afford granite counter tops.  My husband did the floor in a diamond pattern that I just love.  Most of our accessories were from secondhand stores, on clearance, or something we already had.  Yeah for being thrifty!
Hope you all enjoy your weekend.  I know I will!

Beautiful Leaf Garlands....How I Love Thee.

My mom is pretty crafty.  She's the kind of woman to go find sticks in her backyard, dry her own flowers, and create a gorgeous wreath out of her findings.  My mom also makes beautiful garland decorations.  Her Christmas decor is fabulous, her stairways are always holiday appropriate, the mantel is loving-leaves during the fall, and her front porch is a festive fete all-year round!  In an attempt to find a house project for myself, I thought of making a garland of leaves like THE MOM.  I found white paper leaves, burlap leaf garlands, copper leaves, newspaper leaves, the list goes on.  Needless to say, I'm inspired.  Are you?!

Hop on over to Freckles Chick for a sweet giveaway including leaves!

P.S.  The roast I made last Friday that cooked for 8 hours in the crock pot was delicious!  I mean falling apart it was so tender!

Well, too bad because I've got some sweet images and a new style on my front porch.  I'll have to show my porch in another post, but please enjoy these cool fall decorating ideas:

Ikea and Pottery Barn? Trust me, okay!

So our friend, Maria, over at Colour Me Happy Blog, mentioned in a great post how smart it is to mix and match pieces from other stores.  For example, don't make an entire room out of Ikea furniture, but choose pieces and decorate the other areas from a different supplier.  This totally got my mind thinking, "What about Ikea and Pottery Barn?!"  Well, I was up for the challenge and these were my faves.  The furniture is from Ikea and the accessories are from Pottery Barn!
Jennylund Chair

Soule Pillow

Ektorp Sofa
Elise Floor Mirror

Bergsbo Bookcase

Nash Candlesticks

Norfolk Bench

Fringed Hand-Loomed Rug

Rustic White Vases

Sculptural High Wheel Bicycle

What's something that you mix and match?
Clothing, home decor pieces, colors, your spouse....anything!  I want to know!
