So our friend, Maria, over at
Colour Me Happy Blog, mentioned in a great post how smart it is to mix and match pieces from other stores. For example, don't make an entire room out of Ikea furniture, but choose pieces and decorate the other areas from a different supplier. This totally got my mind thinking, "What about
Ikea and
Pottery Barn?!" Well, I was up for the challenge and these were my faves. The furniture is from
Ikea and the accessories are from
Pottery Barn!
Jennylund Chair
Soule Pillow
Ektorp Sofa
Elise Floor Mirror
Bergsbo Bookcase
Nash Candlesticks
Norfolk Bench
Fringed Hand-Loomed Rug
Rustic White Vases
Sculptural High Wheel Bicycle
What's something that you mix and match?
Clothing, home decor pieces, colors, your spouse....anything! I want to know!

HI/Low design is very in right now and I think it is very smart in this economy. I have always done that out of necessity and now it is a way of life for me. Looks like you had some fun pullling a room together Hi/Low!! Thanks for visiting my blog, isn't Ina's kitchen amazing! I love to learn from her, design and cooking, Have a great day,Kathysue
I say yes to mixing things up. It's the way we live and I am finding it be more interesting. I have mixed the Ektorp sofa with old wing chairs and love the look.

I like to mix items from all types of sources, Target, thrift stores, antique shops, Pottery Barn, etc...I've visited homes decorated completely from a single source and, while attractive, they lack something personal and tell me little about the homeowner's personality.
BTW, thanks for stopping by my blog via Frugal with a Flourish.
Where did you find the Penny Farthing bike? It's amazing.
